Post all commands related to start, stop and restart services on the servers and important path information, like path to httpd log, maillog, etc...

To start the mysql service on the verio virtual server for the client, you need to login to the shell with CLIENTS username and password and then fire the following command:

Code:
/usr/local/bin/mysqld&


Please note that the above command will not work when you login to the Virutal Server using the "broot". 'broot' provides an restricated environment.

Hello ,

SendMail Path

1. With a regular hosting account (mach machine), the path to sendmail is:
/usr/sbin/sendmail
2. With a Virtual Server account, the path to sendmail is:
/bin/sendmail

Perl Path

1. Path to perl is on Mach Servers
/usr/local/bin/perl

2. Virtual Server accounts (perl5), the path to perl is:
/usr/local/bin/perl
or
3. Virtual Server accounts (perl4)(192...), the path to perl is:
/usr/bin/perl

We can check using command "which perl"

Restart Apache
restart_apache

Start/Restart MYSQL Database on Server


1. To start mysql:
2. cd ~/etc
3. more rc
4. copy and paste the line below:
/usr/local/bin/mysqld --log --basedir=/usr/local --datadir=/usr/local/var 2>&1 > /dev/null &
5. if it comes back as "Ambiguous output redirect", do this
6. chmod 755 rc (this changes permissions of the rc file)
7. ./rc
8. ps aux (make sure you see the italic line which means mysql is running)

Restart Sendmail on Servers

1. ps aux | grep sendmail
2. find the accepting line and copy the number:
3. (root 5556 0.0 0.1 2220 360 ? S Feb07 0:23 sendmail: accepti)
4. kill -9 "5556" (this kills the sendmail process)
5. /usr/sbin/sendmail -bd -q15m & (this restarts the sendmail process)
